Women's Studies Summer Academic Program (WSSAP)

Application Procedure

The deadline for applying has been extended to July 30th, 2017. Those interested in participating in the program should contact Dr. Iskra Gencheva, Director of WSSAP, at ivgenchevam@japan.lakeland.edu.

Applicants will be informed of the selection results via E-mail on July 20th, 2017. Along with the confirmation, they will also receive further information to complete the registration process.

Venue

Most of the lectures and workshops will take place at the premises of university, which is located in Shinjuku ward of Tokyo. For further information, please consult the Lakeland University official homepage.

Some lectures and workshops will take place at cultural, political, and business centers in Tokyo as well as in Tokyo area resorts. For more information about the lectures and workshops, please see the Program Schedule.

Fees

The Summer Program will charge participant fees of 10,000 Japanese yen per day or 40,000 Japanese yen for the entire Summer Program. The fee is to be paid after the confirmation of acceptance has been received. Participation fee payment deadline: July 30, 2017.

Fees include tuition for the Summer Program, course material, transportation within Tokyo for the visits organized within the framework of the Summer Program, museum admission fees, and daily light lunch. Participants are individually responsible for their accommodation in Tokyo, transportation to LUJ, and living expenses.

The welcome dinner on August 7, 2017, is optional. If you wish to attend, please contact Dr. Iskra Gencheva, Director of WSSAP, at ivgenchevam@japan.lakeland.edu.

Cancellation/Fee Policy

Participants will be notified by July 20th, 2017 if there are insufficient numbers for the Summer Program to run. In this event, they will be offered a refund of the participation fees.

Non–attendance without a prior notice or cancellations made after July 30th, 2017 will not be refunded.
